Advertisers take note. Citizens are now circulating petitions among advertisers who advertise with The Danville Register and Bee, asking them to boycott the paper or at least contact Publisher Steve Kaylor about the over-the-top bias and attacks on Congressman Virgil Goode. Citizens have been venting at the poor reporters, but now they're willing to boycott advertisers if advertisers continue to support the newspaper's attacks on Virgil.
Apparently reporter Sarah Arkin's partisan reporting isn't sitting well with readers who don't mind fair and accurate reporting on both candidates, but who won't sit still while the newbie reporter from Chicago trashes Virginia's longest running and Danville's favorite incumbent.
If you are tired of the mud slinging by the Register & Bee as they support all Democrat's this election season, check with your neighbor. And if you're a business that advertises with The Register & Bee and your business has dropped off? Now you know why. Let your sales rep and Steve Kaylor know your customers don't like the cheap, sleezy hatchet job on Virgil.
What's this blog really about?
You may notice a variety of topics here - from business, to charity promotion, even to local news, but the primary reason this blog was created was to alert readers to the hostile atmosphere and sexual harassment at The Danville Register & Bee. The readers and creator of this blog want a FULL FRONT PAGE apology in the Danville Register & Bee, plus the disciplining of those individuals involved. Until then, we'll continue to post regular updates. To tolerate THIS kind of behavior by a major media network is intolerable. And this isn't just ONE instance. Media General has been sued nationwide for racism and sexism, yet they CONTINUE to keep the offenders employed. Why? And why am I doing this? TRUTH compels me.
