Dear Becky,
Love your Blog..........saw this in the Friday Oct. 3,2008 paper in the Library, since I'm like so many others who no longer get the former locally owned paper but happen across an issue from time to time...an artsy photo but not proper to be viewed by children and not for a small conservative town like Danville which is also known as the 'City of Churches' ........how is a nude photo of a woman going to help stop violence against women?... my family will NOT do business with those that are advertised in this supplement....Becky we thank you for your mission to stop the discrimination and violence against women.... A Fan

I have to agree. The Register & Bee thinks nudity sells. They really don't get it - a nude photo of a woman with an article about Domestic Abuse?!! How UTTERLY clueless can you get??!! Oh...that's right. This is a major media company that thought it was okay to film the breasts of a local businesswoman without her knowledge or consent and then show it around the newsroom so the *men* could giggle at her nipples. Yeah. That paper. Um hmmmm....and now suddenly they think that putting out covers like this of naked women is okay? Advertisers???? HELLLLLOOOOOOOOOO.....
Maybe folks should do like this reader is - vote with your dollars. If you don't want naked women and porn in your local daily paper - going into your kid's schools...then, advertise somewhere else.
Thanks for writing in and sending the cover as well!
