What's this blog really about?

You may notice a variety of topics here - from business, to charity promotion, even to local news, but the primary reason this blog was created was to alert readers to the hostile atmosphere and sexual harassment at The Danville Register & Bee. The readers and creator of this blog want a FULL FRONT PAGE apology in the Danville Register & Bee, plus the disciplining of those individuals involved. Until then, we'll continue to post regular updates. To tolerate THIS kind of behavior by a major media network is intolerable. And this isn't just ONE instance. Media General has been sued nationwide for racism and sexism, yet they CONTINUE to keep the offenders employed. Why? And why am I doing this? TRUTH compels me.

Who has your back?

The year I graduated from high school, federal judges subpoenaed the Watergate notes of Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. Washington Post publisher Katharine Graham, in one of her more famous, but certainly not unusual moves, took possession of the notes. She said that she would go to jail for her reporters.

That's the difference between a female publisher with ethics and any publisher without.

That's how I remember Katharine Graham.

I'll remember Publisher Steven Kaylor as the male publisher who defended his reporter's right to videotape women's breasts without their consent and then show the video around the newsroom.

What's your most impressive media memory?

My most memorable media moment was when Media General reporter Brian Ewing declared me to be a racist in a Reidsville Review front page, top fold article.

Ewing made the declaration on the claim of a former Media General editor who had I "outed" as a convicted felony arsonist.

Yes, Media General hired a violent felon as the executive editor of three of its newspaper. Your complaint about a chronic DUI reporter being on the Media General payroll seems trivial in comparison.

Is Media General some kind of magnet for deviants?
